It's getting warmer already

A while ago I discovered a blog called Badchristian, and I am absolutely thrilled by it. It's hilarious, brilliant, observant and so bloody true. I bow before thee, oh quasi-badass son of a preacherman. Say it as it is, brother!
This guy linked to a website called Worldview Weekend with a quiz testing how good a Christian (in this case, how much of a right wing evangelical nazi) you are (I kid you not), and his results were disastrous, so he labelled himself Bad Christian.
Needless to say, I did the test as well and scored pretty bad, too *grin*:

I am proud of myself. I am astonished (or am I?) to see that socialism and communism is seen at the other end of the Christian scale (isn't that so 1960s America?), when looking at Jesus' life, this was precisely what he preached. So yep, I'm a red pig.

Anyways, here are a few samples of that test, with the evaluation of my answers. I love it how they are so into correct answers. Looks like I lost quite a few points there. Boo-hoo.

But according to the Worldview gestapo, there is still hope for my soul though. Kindly, they gave me these recommendations:

"To improve your biblical worldview or that of your teen we recommend the following things:
- Attend a Worldview Weekend near you.
- Send your 16 to 25 year olds to a two-week Summit camp in Colorado. (You will find a link to their web page on every page of our website)
- Adults should consider a one week Summit experience at our Adult/ Educators Conf held at the Navigator's Glen Eyrie Conference Center.
- Begin teaching or attending a 13 week course of study entitled Thinking Like A Christain. This course is for sale at our online bookstore at www.worldviewweekend.com
- Read the following worldview books which are available at our online bookstore at www.worldviewweekend.com:
Mind Seige by Dr. Tim LaHaye and Dr. David Noebel God & Government I, II, and III by Gary DeMar No Retreasts, No Reserves, No Regreats, by numerous authors
Original Intent by David Barton Reasons for Believeing By Frank Harber The Battle For Truth, by David Noebel Revised and Expanded Answers Book by Ken Ham
Thinking Straight in a Crooked World by Gary DeMar

Then retake the test and see what improvements you or your teen have made. For a refutation of this statement the following statements: If you want to study the original source of law, then study the previous decisions of judges since our laws are always evolving based on the most recent decisions of our nation's judges. Since God is not the author of law, the author of law must be man. In other words, the law is the law simply because the highest human authority, which is the state, has said it is law and is able to back it up by force. Please see John Eidsmoe,
Christianity & the Constitution (Grand Rapids: Baker, 1987, 2003)."

There is a lecturer at my uni who still seems to believe the Christian subculture has done only good to the world and is absolutely harmless. Of course, she is probably Anglican, and hey, those guys are a petting zoo compared to the cultish American right wing fundies.
So man, if you want a good laugh or be horrified or both, go check out that website. They are almost as good as antipornguy, who, unfortunately, has deserted the cyberworld, but whose amusing memory is kept alive by many. Anyways, point I was making, Worldview Weekend have got their head so far up their arse they struck daylight.

When I signed up for the test, I must have automatically signed up for their newsletter, as well (how very Christian of them), and ever since my inbox is getting bombarded by messages which, were they delivered by a German politician, everyone would cry Hitler alert. I actually keep and read them for their amusement value. Almost as good as Chick Tracts, you know. There are article title jewels such as:

"Your Antidote for Liberalism and Christian Happy-talk"

"How Should We Respond To Today's Toxic Culture?"

Sometimes I feel a bit bad for ranting so much against contemporary Christian culture. But hell, this website just proves, they are begging for it.
